Leavitt also stated that the alligators and snakes that inhabit the swamps will serve as a natural deterrent to those who try to escape . “This facility will be filled with murderers, rapists , and individuals who have committed heinous crimes ,” he explained.

According to EFE , before attending the inauguration, Trump openly mocked the migrants who will be sent to this prison. , stating that " they'll teach them how to run away from an alligator" and recommending that they run "in a zigzag rather than in a straight line." He also stated that the chances of escaping Alligator Alcatraz are "1 percent."
