Ronald Johnson , the United States ambassador to Mexico, recognized his nation's Treasury Department for combating " narcoterrorism ."

"I recognize the leadership of Acting Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Anna Morris in advancing Donald Trump 's commitment to dismantle the narco-terrorist cartels. Her work against money laundering is critical to dismantling the criminal networks that threaten the citizens of both our nations," the post reads.

Following this, the U.S. Treasury Department accused CIBanco, Intercam Banco, and Vector Casa de Bolsa of being the main money launderers in connection with opioid trafficking.

CIBanco and Intercam, commercial banks with more than $7 billion and $4 billion in total assets, respectively, and Vector, a brokerage firm managing nearly $11 billion in assets, have collectively played a vital and longstanding role in laundering millions of dollars on behalf of Mexico-based cartels and facilitating payments for the acquisition of precursor chemicals needed to produce fentanyl.

“Financial facilitators like CIBanco, Intercam, and Vector are facilitating the poisoning of countless Americans by transferring money on behalf of cartels, making them key players in the fentanyl supply chain,” said Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
