Videos show a devastating fire at Tuscia University in Italy.

A massive fire engulfed the roof of the Agriculture Department building at the University of Tuscia in Viterbo, Italy, on Wednesday. The emergency mobilized local and federal fire departments , and although the blaze caused significant material damage, no casualties have been confirmed so far.

According to Italy's official fire department (Vigili del Fuoco), the fire started at 10:15 a.m. (local time) on the roof of the Faculty of Agriculture. The building, located on the Riello campus, was quickly evacuated, according to authorities, with no injuries reported.

“Since 10:15 a.m., we have been working with four brigades and reinforcements from Rome and Terni. The building has been evacuated. No one was involved,” the firefighters posted on their official X account.

The flames reached the second floor.

Videos released by witnesses and media outlets such as ViralNewsHQ and TL2 Noticias show a large column of black smoke and flames completely consuming the upper part of the building. Users and journalists on the scene reported that the second floor collapsed as a result of the fire, although this information has not yet been confirmed by local authorities.

The emergency reportedly spread to the second floor of the academic building, as students and staff hastily evacuated.

Possible chemical origin, but no official version

One of the most shared versions, without official validation, suggests that the fire could have been caused by highly flammable materials or a spark during renovations. The Italian account @AbbedeTheleme warned of the possibility that the fire was linked to the mishandling of chemicals in the building, although it also left open the possibility of malicious intent.

For now, authorities have indicated that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Timely evacuation prevented a tragedy

The immediate evacuation of the building was key to avoiding a fatal outcome. According to TL2, firefighters evacuated everyone present in a timely manner, and extinguishing efforts focused on both the exterior and interior of the building.

However, there are reports of a missing worker, although this information has not been corroborated by official sources.

Ties with Uzbekistan and a possible diplomatic shift

In parallel to the accident, it has been highlighted that the University of Tuscia maintained academic and scientific relations with institutions in Uzbekistan, as noted by Professor Stefano Ubertini, rector of the campus. This connection, mentioned by Italian users, has sparked speculation, although no connection has been established between these international ties and the accident.
