WhatsApp will promote channels and allow subscriptions to support users' favorites.

WhatsApp It will promote channels to help users discover new ones and will offer the possibility of supporting their favorites through a subscription to receive exclusive updates in exchange for paying a monthly fee, reports Europa Press.
The social network has introduced new features to offer users more ways to discover more channels and companies in the News tab, which WhatsApp has been working on for the past two years to make it "the place where you can discover new things on WhatsApp."

In this sense, the News tab is used by 1.5 billion people every day, according to the platform, so WhatsApp aims to help businesses grow through subscriptions to their channels in the app, or by promoting them so more people discover them.
Channel subscriptions will allow users to support their favorite channels through a subscription that allows them to receive exclusive updates for a monthly fee. Promoted channels, meanwhile, will allow users to discover channels of interest and administrators to increase their visibility.
Similarly, WhatsApp will also introduce status ads, allowing users to easily initiate conversations with companies about the products or services they promote in this space.
Thus, the social network has reported that these features are aimed at administrators and businesses, so users who use WhatsApp only for messaging will not see these changes.
WhatsApp emphasized that these features have been developed "in the most private way possible," as personal messages, calls, and statuses remain end-to-end encrypted, so no one has access to them, not even the app itself.

Thus, the social network has specified that, to display ads in statuses or show channels that may be of interest, it will use "limited information," such as country, language, channels followed, and how users interact with the ads they see.

If you've opted to add WhatsApp to the Account Center, your ad preferences and information from all your Meta accounts will also be used.
