The price of the Olinia electric car will not exceed 150,000 pesos , and the first pilot fleet will go on sale in June 2026.

During the During President Claudia Sheinbaum's morning press conference on August 13 , Roberto Capuano , leader of the Olinia Project, announced the progress and questions regarding the matter.

"The cost of the vehicle is the same as we announced in January; it won't cost more than 150,000 pesos."

Fernando Ocaña Espinoza, head of Automotive Design, said that the first fleet of Olinia cars will be launched in June 2026 .

Olinia is preparing three models, but it will initially launch sales with two:

• A passenger vehicle that will seek to replace the motorcycle taxi
• Another cargo company that will seek to reduce the costs of delivering goods.

"We are working on building a prototype that will lead to a pilot fleet to be launched in June 2026."

The design center is currently located in the state of Puebla, but the state where the Olinia assembly plant will be located has yet to be determined.

Roberto Capuan emphasized that the goal is to offer emission-free mobility within reach of all Mexicans.

He added that they are looking to make mobility more affordable and sell the technology, so they are open to collaborating with companies if they decide to adopt Olinia cars in their businesses.

The logo was presented to Claudia Sheinbaum , which for them will be an emblem to highlight Mexican values and culture, based on an alebrije hare .

The hare alebrije signifies adaptability and dynamism, and its wings represent the freedom to move, evoking the golden eagle and a new type of flight.

In this context, it was announced that the design of the cars promoted by Claudia Sheinbaum 's government will be revealed in September 2025.

"This coming September, we'll be unveiling the design of the first Olinia vehicles. I can tell you in advance that they'll be electric, lightweight, yet powerful enough to climb hills. They can be recharged from any conventional outlet, and their operating cost will be lower than that of any gasoline-powered car or even a motorcycle..."
