Why is Oaxaca the cultural heart of Mexico?

My xtawa' told me that along the paths of the people who inhabit their native nations , whispers and voices can be heard that resemble cathedrals and bell towers in the native language . It is a linguistic universe from Mexico to the world.

At different times in pre-Hispanic Mexico , the inhabitants of Monte Albán, Yagul, Dainzú, Lambityeco, Guiengola, Monte Negro, Atzompa, Huijazoo, el Mogote and other towns laid the foundations of what is now Oaxaca . Capitals where the daughters and sons of the mountains, the rivers, the sea and the rain lived and live; of the jaguars, the otters and the clouds.

The people of Oaxaca, in their celebrations of their main festivals , are able to measure their joy with the vigorous displays of their dances . With Jarabes, sones and chilenas, everything is attractive. Sounds converted into musical pieces that are consecrated in the Oaxacan memory.

Oaxaca is a symphonic concert . A zenith of pleasures. Here everything is told in detail as we delve into its ancient history to artistically reproduce the past, full of resplendent forms that demand that its name be written with half a machete inside (ingestion of several glasses of mezcal). “… It is not mezcal , it is Oaxaca,” wrote Malcolm Lowry.

Why is Oaxaca the cultural heart of Mexico? Because in this land the hands of its ancestors transformed Teosinte into corn. Because the cultures of its native peoples are wonderful manifestations of human diversity that precede and sustain knowledge ; in essence, an attitude of the freedoms of the spirit .

With the efforts of the government of the Oaxacan Spring , we will consolidate the State, in addition to being the cultural heart of Mexico; also, the identity heart of our country.
