The National Tax and Customs Directorate (DIAN) has established the 2025 calendar for the payment of income tax returns that individuals and legal entities must file.

According to information published on the entity's official website , income tax is a tax obligation that taxpayers must comply with based on their income, deductions, and assets, among other categories.
Citizens must perform the corresponding calculation and pay the tax within the deadline stipulated in this year's tax calendar.

Through this process, the Colombian State has the capacity to determine taxpayers' tax obligations and define the corresponding annual fiscal adjustments.
The citizen is exposed to sanctions established by law, in accordance with the provisions of Article 643 of the Tax Statute , which regulates the penalty for failure to declare.

This rule establishes that taxpayers who persist in noncompliance may be penalized with an amount equivalent to 20% of the total bank deposits or gross income recorded.
In addition, the taxpayer could also receive a fine of 20% of the amount owed for the most recently filed income tax return.

According to the tax website Tributi, those who fail to submit their documentation after the established deadline face a penalty of $498,000 pesos, even if the tax return filed is for a value of 0 pesos.
According to the tax calendar, legal entities must file their income tax returns on the established dates between May and October.

For legal entities , the tax calendar is divided into two stages. The second stage runs from July 2 to July 22, 2025.

Individuals must file their income tax returns from August 12 to October 24, 2025.
The specific date for submitting the document to the Colombian state entity depends on the last two digits of the identification number (NIT).
