All About Lily-Rose Depp’s Girlfriend, 070 Shake
This month, Lily Rose Depp revealed she was dating girlfriend 070 Shake, whose real name is Danielle Balbuen. The actress and the rapper appeared on Depp's Instagram Stories sharing a kiss, and have since been seen together out in public.
Upon Depp's return to Los Angeles after her trip to the Cannes Dilm Festival to promote her new project The Idol, she was greeted by Shake at LAX, where they shared a sweet embrace.
Here's everything we know about Depp's girlfriend 070 Shake so far.
Who is 070 Shake?The 26-year-old rapper is from New Jersey, hailing from the town of North Bergen. She has a few names she uses, including Dani, Shake and Yellow Girl. 070 is a tribute to her former Jersey area code and a nod to the New Jersey collective 070, which includes 11 members, including The Kompetition producers, Razsy Beats, Ether Phoenix, and J-Sebastian.
Shake makes all sorts of music, and is scheduled to join Coldplay later this year for their Music of the Spheres World Tour. She was signed to Kanye West’s label G.O.O.D Music in 2017. She even collaborated with West on “Ghost Town,” and has a feature on Raye's “Escapism,” which debuted at No.1 in the UK.
There were rumors of them dating early in 2022, and when Depp posted a picture of them kissing in early May, she wrote “4 MONTHS W MY CRUSH” over the image. That would put the start of their relationship around early February, and rumors of a connection did start around that time after they were seen together at Paris Fashion Week.
In the new year, the couple appeared to still be going strong after making an appearance on Depp's Instagram Stories in celebration of their one year dating anniversary, which seems to be January 11. Depp shared a picture of the rapper seated in front of her as she embraces her, writing over the pic, “1 <3, My dani my forever.”
Depp broke up with her boyfriend of two years, Timothée Chalamet, at the end of 2021. Before her girlfriend, she was very briefly linked to actor Austin Butler.
070 Shake was in a relationship with musical artist Kehlani in 2021 for a few months, and she dated Instagram model Sophia Diana Lodato from 2017 to 2021.
Where have they been seen together?Since their airport reunion, the couple have been seen in public together in San Diego, California, on September 29. They were seen holding hands and laughing together as they strolled through the streets. At one point, Depp reached out to touch her partner's face in a sweet gesture.
In the images, Depp wore a blue top with slacks and tan loafers. Shake was in a black leather jacket and camo pants with a black t-shirt and boots.
In mid-October, the couple were photographed shopping in Los Angeles at high-end grocery store Erewhon. They again embraced frequently as they walked through the aisles and while waiting to pay for their drinks at the register. Depp wore a Kiss crop-top and low slung sweatpants with black boots. For accessories, she donned sunglasses and carried a purse over one shoulder.
The rapper wore baggy jeans and a Prodigy t-shirt with black sneakers. She left her hair down in curly waves around her shoulders.
Are they still together in 2024?Yes. In February, the couple was photographed getting dinner at Giorgio Baldi. Depp wore low-rise jeans with a black top and jacket. 070 Shake was in a white top, jeans, and a navy coat.
They attended a Lakers game in March.
And Giorgio Baldi again in May.
On Wednesday, October 16, the pair attended the Charli XCX and Troye Sivan concert in Los Angeles. They were seen cuddling and embracing during the show and Depp briefly rested her head on her partner’s shoulder. The Idol star wore a denim jacket and matching jeans over a leopard print top. The rapper was in a beige jacket and over-sized pants with black combat boots.
Depp stars in Shake’s music video for “Winter Baby / New Jersey Blues.”On Oct. 15, 2024, the rapper called Depp “my muse” when debuting the newest music video from the album Petrichor.
The lyrics seemingly reveal to the actress as well. Shake raps, “Found a girl and she’s worth all of the pain...If it don't work out I’m gonna kill the machine / Girly keep your clothes in Los Angeles / I’m gonna take you to your favorite places to eat.”
It ends with, “Now I’m comin’ home to you.”
Talking to E! News at the 15th annual Governors Awards on Sunday, November 17, Depp was asked about her relationship and the rapper’s new album. She said, “I feel like there's not enough time in these short interviews to really sum it up. But I’m incredibly proud. Yeah, she's incredibly talented. I’m very proud.”
Asked about why their relationship works, she replied, “I mean, I think it’s, you know, it's that kind of je ne sais quoi. You can’t describe that kind of feeling. But yeah, I’m very happy.”
070 Shake dedicated her album to Depp.Shake released their album, Petrichor, in November. On her Instagram Stories, Depp wrote, “It’s time. There’s no one like you and nothing like this album. Y’all are not f---ing ready!!!!"
Shake replied, “Dedicated to you, forever. Thank You. You’ve inspired me to be better.”
On Thursday, December 12, Depp and 070 Shake were photographed holding hands as they left the Nosferatu after-party at the Sunset Boulevard Tower in Los Angeles. Depp wore a silver satin gown under a black bomber jacket and a pair of silver strappy heels. The rapper wore a large gray vest over a white button down with matching gray slacks.
In December, Depp revealed she carries a lock of Shake’s hair with her.In an interview with MTV U.K., Depp shared that she keeps some of Shake’s hair in a locket, saying, “I have a locket of my boyfriend’s hair, kind of like in [Nosferatu].”
On August 1, Depp posted a carousel on Instagram that included a mirror selfie with Shake. In the image, Depp is wearing a sheer top over matching white bra and panties. Shake is standing beside her in a pair of navy coveralls with a cigarette in their mouth. The next photo showed a bouquet of red roses, a bowl of cherries, and two emptied cups of coffee. Depp captioned the pics, “🌹🌹🌹Summer loving 🌹🌹🌹”
