Angela Aguilar dreams of playing her grandmother Flor Silvestre in the movies.

In addition to succeeding in regional Mexican music and being the face of international brands, Ángela Aguilar revealed that she wants to take another step in her artistic career: venturing into film. But not just any way. Her dream is to give life to Flor Silvestre, her maternal grandmother and icon of Mexican golden age cinema.

In an interview with Billboard, the young artist expressed her deep desire to portray the actress and singer in a biopic that celebrates her legacy.

"I'm very dramatic, I would love to. I think it would be a great expression in my drama," declared the actress, asserting that she feels a very special connection with Flor Silvestre's elegance and strength.

Christian Nodal as Antonio Aguilar?

Angela also joked about the possibility of including her husband, singer Christian Nodal, in the project. She even envisioned him playing her grandfather, Antonio Aguilar, although she laughingly acknowledged that there would be a slight problem:

“My husband has so many tattoos for my grandfather, that wouldn’t work,” she said, laughing.

It's worth remembering that the relationship between Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre was also a subject of media attention in its time. They met in the 1950s, but it wasn't until 1959 that they formalized their union. a story that many today compare to the current relationship between Angela and Nodal.

A tribute that has already begun

Angela's tribute to her grandmother is now a musical reality. Last May, she released the album Nadie se va como llega, which includes the song "A dos de borrarte" (A Two from Erasing You). whose video clip pays visual tribute to the classic style of Flor Silvestre.

Apparently inspired by the film Una sola caída (1964), the video reproduces costumes, gestures and settings similar to those that her grandmother popularized in her years of greatest fame.

Thus, between music and film, Ángela Aguilar continues to forge her own path, while continuing to honor the figures who inspired her from the beginning.
