Consuming certain foods and drinks at night, especially close to bedtime, can negatively affect sleep quality, leading to interruptions and unpleasant, intense experiences.

To do this, the research group analyzed a sample of 1,082 volunteers between the ages of 17 and 54, of whom 5.5% reported that their sleep was significantly affected after eating certain foods.
According to data published in the scientific journal Frontiers in Psychology, 30% of the people who participated in the study and tried sweets or desserts reported disturbing dreams during their sleep cycle.
Meanwhile, 20% of individuals who consumed milk, yogurt, or cheese reported difficulty sleeping, especially women. However, other food groups such as fruits, meats, grains, and spicy foods were below expectations.
Based on these findings, the research group was able to determine that dairy products are the most influential factor in the frequency of nightmares experienced by people.

Among the reports presented by MacEwan University, they also found that food allergies and gluten intolerance are two conditions that should be taken into account when eating, especially at night.
According to researchers, symptoms of gastrointestinal diseases often include abdominal discomfort, digestion problems, pain, bloating, changes in gut microbiota, and disturbing dreams.

- Fast food.
- Fried foods.
- Refined carbohydrates.
- Sugars.
- Caffeinated beverages.
- Alcohol.
- High-fat products.
Researchers also recommend replacing heavy dinners with meals that are easy to digest and have lighter properties , especially if you suffer from food sensitivities.
