Emma Stone kidnaps an alien CEO

The acclaimed Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos and Oscar-winning actress Emma Stone are teaming up again on " Bugonia ," a provocative and twisted film that promises to leave a lasting impression. The film, which opens in Mexican theaters on October 30, has already released its first trailer, raising expectations among fans of art-house cinema.

Lanthimos, known for works such as “The Favourite,” “The Lobster,” and “Poor Things,” directs this disturbing psychological thriller with tinges of satire and science fiction.

“Bugonia” is a loose adaptation of the South Korean cult classic “Save the Green Planet,” with a script by Will Tracy (“The Menu”), based on the original work by Jang Joon-hwan.

The story follows two young people obsessed with conspiracy theories, played by Jesse Plemons (“The Power of the Dog,” “Killers of the Flower Moon”) and Emma Stone ("La La Land," "Poor Things"), who kidnap a powerful CEO , believing she's actually an alien plotting to destroy Earth. What begins as a desperate act spirals into a nightmare where paranoia, mistrust, and madness blur the lines between reality and absurdity.

The cast also includes Alicia Silverstone, in one of the darkest and most enigmatic roles of her career.
