One of Kate Winslet 's latest films has arrived on streaming. in Spain, and she did so with a story as fascinating as it is true. The British actress plays the role of a woman who was a haute couture model, a muse of surrealism, a lover of Man Ray , and, finally, a photojournalist during World War II .
Her work took her from the Blitz bombings in London to the concentration camps in Germany, leaving her mark with images that marked a before and after in the history of photojournalism. The film, which has recently been released on digital platforms such as Apple TV+ , Prime Video , Filmin and Rakuten TV, reconstructs the life of this key figure of the 20th century and focuses on her most turbulent and committed period : that of war reporter on the Allied front.

The film is titled Lee Miller , in honor of the protagonist's real name. Winslet, who also serves as a producer, has assembled a cast of international film icons such as Alexander Skarsgård, Marion Cotillard, Andrea Riseborough, Noémie Merlant, Josh O'Connor , and Andy Samberg. They all bring to life the characters who surrounded this pioneering woman who photographed the Nazi horrors from the front lines, including at Dachau and Buchenwald.
The biography has been adapted for the big screen by Ellen Kuras, a debuting director but an established cinematographer. Based on the book by Miller's son, Antony Penrose, the script traces key moments in her life , from her time as a model for Vogue to her transformation into one of the few women admitted to the War Correspondents' Corps in London.
One of the film's scenes recreates Miller's most symbolic self-portrait: she appears naked in Adolf Hitler 's bathtub, on the day of his suicide, her boots stained with Dachau mud . Despite this, the film focuses on a restrained narrative, avoiding sensationalism, and offers a more human and raw look at the price of telling the truth in times of conflict. Its documentary value makes it a must-see for those interested in historical and biographical films.
