Ibiza Rocks cancels concerts after the deaths of two people

Ibiza Rocks has suspended its concerts and DJ sets after the deaths of two people. A 19-year-old British man died at the venue on the morning of Monday, July 21, after falling from the third floor. Two ambulances arrived at the scene, but the young man was pronounced dead, according to the British newspaper Daily Express.
The incident comes two weeks after 26-year-old Scottish tourist Evan Thomson also died there in similar circumstances. The management of Ibiza Rocks, a San Antonio hotel that turns into a 2,500-person music festival in the summer, issued a statement declaring they were "deeply shocked and devastated" by the incidents.
"Our priority is to support those affected and their loved ones during this incredibly difficult time, and to fully assist the authorities in their investigations. The safety and well-being of our guests has, and always will remain, our top priority," the statement continued, adding that "given the seriousness of the situation and out of respect for those involved," we believe it is "the right thing to do to pause all scheduled events."
A local police spokesperson said Monday: "We are investigating the death of a 19-year-old British man at a hotel in San Antonio, Ibiza. Our officers attended the scene, but the man was already dead by the time help arrived. The fall occurred from the third floor of the hotel to an outside area of the complex. Judicial officials authorized the removal of the body at 2:40 this morning. The fall may have been accidental, according to the initial information obtained from the cameras , but as part of the investigation, we will need to locate and interview any witnesses. The results of the autopsy will also be important for the investigation."
The 19-year-old's name was Gary Kelly, and his family released a statement saying goodbye: "Our hearts are broken beyond words. Our beautiful boy has gone to the other side, we are absolutely speechless. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as a family as we try to come to terms with this tragic news. You will always be our Gary, sleep tight."
As NME reports, in the case of the deceased 29-year-old, it was Thomson's mother, Lel Kellighan, who broke the news of his death on social media, writing: "My heart is absolutely breaking to write to you all and tell you that earlier this week my son Evan was involved in a tragic accident while on holiday with friends in Ibiza and sadly passed away."
This year has been particularly tragic for Ibiza Rocks, as shortly after the season opened on April 30, a 33-year-old British woman collapsed and died in her room. Local media reported at the time that the woman, whose name remains unknown, was suffering from health problems. She is known to have been wearing an implantable cardioverter defibrillator, a small battery-powered device placed under the collarbone to monitor heartbeats and treat abnormal heart rhythms using electrical impulses.
Ibiza Rocks has hosted major international pop, rock and electronic music stars, from Ed Sheeran, Arctic Monkeys, The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, Madness, Franz Ferdinand, The Kooks, Dua Lipa, Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding , David Guetta, Stormzy, Craig David, Becky Hill, Joel Corry and Mark Ronson.
Their 20th anniversary was scheduled to be celebrated on July 23rd and 30th with Dizzee Rascal and Rudimental headlining, but it doesn't look like those shows will go ahead.
