Winner of three Goya Awards and a benchmark in the genre, it returns to theaters as part of a celebration that recovers the best of its essence.
This is La comunidad , directed by Álex de la Iglesia , a work that marked a milestone in her career and consolidated Maura's position as the grand dame of the black comedy thriller. The re-release will hit Spanish theaters on August 21 , with a remastered copy by Mercury Films (FlixOlé) in direct collaboration with the filmmaker himself. This 4K restoration, accompanied by a new poster and trailer, will allow a new generation of viewers to rediscover the film in optimal conditions.

With an explosive mix of social satire, suspense and macabre humor, The community revolves around Julia, a real estate agent who finds a fortune hidden in the apartment of a deceased elderly man. What seemed like a miraculous find turns into a desperate battle against the building's neighbors, determined not to let the multimillion-dollar sum slip away.
The staging, clearly influenced by Hitchcock and pictorial expressionism, shines thanks to an ensemble cast that includes Emilio Gutiérrez Caba, Terele Pávez , Sancho Gracia, Luis Tosar, Antonio de la Torre, and Kiti Mánver. Maura's performance, which won the Silver Shell at San Sebastián, is one of the film's most powerful elements. Her character, full of unstoppable energy, swings between fear and determination as she confronts a building that seems like a trap .
This new edition, sponsored by Avalon, revives one of Álex de la Iglesia's most personal and popular classics, just as it celebrates its 25th anniversary. It's a unique opportunity to see a film that, for many, remains unsurpassed on the big screen again.
