Las Ventas celebrates Patron Saint's Day with carnations, chulapos, Almeida and rain

Chulapos and carnations could be seen around Las Ventas. The blue sky seemed to banish the rainy afternoon that had been experienced yesterday from the stands in the bullring. The sun caused sparkles to shine from the sparkling water, which Alejandro Chicharro wore for the first time on the occasion of his confirmation, while children with their caps and scarves asked for photos.
The same thing happened as the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez Almeida, entered the bullring through the bullring's patio. This morning, he presented Plaza 1 with the Madrid Medal for promoting culture and boosting the economy, and now he arrived to enjoy one of the most Madrid-style bullfights of the year. Santiago Abascal enjoyed the great atmosphere from the alley, with the stands almost full.
Not even the disappointing bullfight could get the fans to leave the stands. Only an unexpected cloud of rain could do so, as it began to fall in the sixth. The afternoon wasn't exactly for the confirmante, who saw many spectators fleeing through the rain as he tried to take advantage of his second opponent. "I think the fans could see my intention to want and want," he said into the microphone of Telemadrid after passing the first bull. The "Pum! Petardo" followed shortly afterward, summing up an afternoon in which the loudest applause went to the brass band, which normally goes unnoticed, but which today played the famous chotis Madrid after the fourth bull, and almost everyone listened and hummed along.
Iván García received another standing ovation after pairing the last bull, and few more standing ovations were heard throughout the afternoon. The second bull also received one, whose qualities Ureña praised on David Jaramillo's microphone: "The bull had potential, above all, he had great nobility. Then he became a little distressed. He had some very beautiful things; I congratulate the rancher, because I was able to show what I am."
Shortly after, the rain passed, and the Patron bullfight, which deserved better, ended. Better afternoons will come to honor him. As he left, Sergio Aguilar congratulated his former student Jarocho for the bullfight he will be killing in Santander, in which the Burgos native, mistreated in the bullfighting offices, is announced with Victorinos, sharing the bill with El Cid and Roca Rey. The young man smiled happily because the lineup couldn't be higher, although he knows that fighting a Victorino bull is always a greater responsibility. But it could be the moment to make a significant impact, and finally make way for the youngsters who earn it and have the potential to be someone in this business.
