Mendoza celebrated Mass for Leo XIV: "The arrival of a new Pope brings hope."

The thanksgiving ceremony was held at Our Lady of Loreto Cathedral and was led by Father Mauricio Hadad.

This Thursday afternoon , a thanksgiving Mass was held at Our Lady of Loreto Cathedral following the election of Pope Leo XIV . Father Mauricio Hadad presided over the celebration, while Bishop Marcelo Daniel Colombo attended the Episcopal Conference.

There was a good turnout of faithful at Loreto Cathedral, who appeared joyful and hopeful as they prayed for the new Pope. Priests, friars, and sisters were also present.

The Mass began on schedule, with a feeling of hope and anticipation due to the election of Francis's successor. At the beginning of the ceremony, the Father assured that "these have been busy days in the Church" and the goal is to bring peace to the faithful. "The arrival of a new Pope brings with it hope and helps us understand that all the work that has been done before will not be in vain," he expressed.

In another excerpt, Father Mauricio Hadad emphasized the previous Mass for the death of Pope Francis and the fact that the faithful had now gathered again to honor the Pope-elect. In this regard, he stated that " under the guidance of Leo XIV, the Catholic Church could follow the same path set by Pope Francis."
