Ozzy Osbourne died of cardiac arrest, according to his death certificate.

Heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne died of cardiac arrest, according to his death certificate, filed in London and obtained by The New York Times . The certificate also confirms that he suffered from Parkinson's and coronary artery disease, which contributed to his death. The certificate lists the causes of death as follows: "(a) Cardiac arrest outside of hospital (b) Acute myocardial infarction (c) Coronary artery disease and Parkinson's disease with autonomic dysfunction (joint causes)." The certificate also lists Osbourne's profession as "songwriter, performer and rock legend."
On the day of his death, according to the New York newspaper, an air ambulance transported the singer about 12 kilometers from his home near the village of Chalfont St. Giles in Buckinghamshire to Harefield Hospital in Uxbridge, a London suburb.
His family announced his death on July 22 without specifying the cause: "It is with indescribable sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Ozzy Osbourne this morning. He was with his family, surrounded by much love. We ask everyone to respect our family's privacy at this time." The 76-year-old singer had been suffering from numerous health problems for years.

Just weeks before his death, Osbourne performed at what was billed as Black Sabbath's final show, a festival in Birmingham, England, his and the band's birthplace. Stars such as Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and the Rolling Stones' Ronnie Wood were there, and Metallica, Guns N' Roses, and Slayer also played. "I've been in bed for six years, and you have no idea how I feel. Thank you from the bottom of my heart," he said, emotionally seated on a bat throne.
As the frontman of Black Sabbath, Osbourne was considered one of the creators of heavy metal and a major influence on bands like Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax. In the 2000s, he reached a second peak of fame as a reality TV star thanks to MTV's The Osbournes , the first reality TV show of that format to depict the family life of a celebrity.
Major bands and artists such as Elton John, Metallica, Foo Fighters, and Billy Idol paid their respects , flooding social media with messages of gratitude for his legacy. On July 30, crowds of his fans flocked to Birmingham to attend a funeral procession , where his coffin was carried through the city before a private service.
