Rafa Serna's second evening at Las Ventas: August 15th, with Lama de Góngora confirming his return to Madrid.

Rafa Serna's second evening at Las Ventas: August 15th, with Lama de Góngora confirming his return to Madrid.

"Double or nothing. Madrid!" With this precise message on his social media, Sevillian bullfighter Rafa Serna announced a few hours ago that he will fight on August 15th at the Las Ventas bullring. Also from Seville, Lama de Góngora will open the lineup and take the alternative from Serna, who already cut an ear on his return to Madrid at the eighteenth San Isidro bullfight. Closing the lineup is José Fernando Molina, who stood out in Madrid on a tough afternoon with bulls from Valdefresno on June 22nd.

Serna thus returns to the Las Ventas bullring, where he confirmed his alternative in May with Diego Urdiales and Roca Rey as his teammates and also with bulls from El Torero, as well as on August 15, the day of the Virgin of the Dove in Madrid and the Virgin of the Kings in his native Seville.

Last May, although he wasn't as lucky in the first of his batch, Rafa gave his all, as he announced in an interview with ABC de Sevilla . After twenty months without wearing lights, the bullfighter was aware of his opportunity to escape from the mud no bullfighter would want to find himself immersed in, and in the sixth, he went to the door of the bullpen where he delivered a good handful of verónicas in front of a devoted crowd. He crowned the performance with a sublime sword thrust that earned him an ear and the immense joy of knowing that he was once again a bullfighter and a triumphant one.

Consciously and courageously, Serna now has a new opportunity to demonstrate his passion for the bull. Good luck, maestro.
