An exclusive red Ford Mustang vehicle, once owned by Richard Gere , complete with a certificate of ownership and a portrait signed by the actor, has gone up for auction on Catawiki . The iconic sports car, directly linked to the history of Hollywood cinema, is becoming one of the main attractions of the international auction of classic convertibles, which will be open until May 10.
This 2000 Mustang, in excellent condition and with just 280 kilometers since its last service, was a personal gift from the actor to his then-wife, actress Carey Lowell . Added to this is its value as a piece of film memorabilia, coinciding with the 35th anniversary of Pretty Woman , the film that cemented Richard Gere's status as a big-screen legend.

As Catawiki's film and collectibles expert Luud Smits comments in a press release, "Few objects capture the magic of cinema and engineering excellence like this one. It's a Mustang with star power. For collectors, this kind of combination is a true treasure."
In addition to Gere's vehicle, the auction platform also includes other valuable film objects, such as a photograph signed by Julia Roberts and a poster for The Wolf of Wall Street autographed by Martin Scorsese. Catawiki's offering is aimed squarely at collectors who value authenticity, classic design, and artistic legacy.

The Mustang that belonged to Richard Gere isn't the first celebrity car to be auctioned on this platform, although it is one of the most striking due to its personal history and impeccable condition. With its original factory paint and picked up in Brüttisellen, Switzerland, the base price for this vehicle already exceeds €1,000, and it is expected to fetch between €31,000 and €35,000 .
