Runt prices rise: learn about the new fees for basic procedures such as driver's licenses.

The Ministry of Transportation announced the update of fees for procedures carried out in the National Single Transit Registry (RUNT) , in compliance with Law 1005 of 2006 and Concession Contract No. 604 of 2022.
The measure was implemented through Resolution 20253040021045 of May 30, 2025, and establishes an adjustment in the cost of more than 140 procedures with the RUNT.

Among the most significant changes is the increase in the cost of issuing, renewing, and duplicating driver's licenses, which will impact thousands of citizens undergoing these processes, effective June 10, 2025.
The Ministry of Transportation uses two factors to calculate the final cost of vehicle procedures. The variation is determined by the CPI factor and the additional adjustment to "expected income."

According to the official website of the Bank of the Republic, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) is used as a basis for measuring the increase in the value of goods and services purchased by Colombians, thus allowing for comparisons of the cost of living across the country.
The rate adjustment is carried out with the additional calculation of "expected revenue." This measure generates a formula that calculates the adjustment when there are differences compared to the actual revenue. This factor determines whether revenue collection has been proportional to the projected amount.
