This Friday, July 4, heavy rains began in Texas, causing the Guadalupe River to rise by almost 10 meters in less than an hour, destroying homes, roads, and a Christian girls' camp where dozens of children and counselors were sleeping, but they have not yet been located.
Others were also affected, camping near the river to celebrate the Fourth of July and were caught in the sudden flood.
According to the BBC, rescue teams are searching for up to 25 girls who were among the 750 attending Camp Mystic on the outskirts of Kerrville.

According to the latest reports, these floods left at least 43 dead, including 15 children, and six more people died in neighboring counties. Authorities have not specified how many remain missing, but among them are the 27 girls from the summer camp.
"We will find them all," said Governor Greg Abbott, who assured that authorities will work tirelessly to rescue and recover the victims.
