Silvestre Dangond reveals his closeness to Diego Pineda, the singer murdered in Bogotá: these were his last minutes.

Last Saturday, May 17 , vallenato singer Diego Pineda, approximately 32 years old, was murdered . He was attacked in the early hours of the morning with a firearm.

Security cameras captured the exact moment Pineda collapsed in the middle of a public street after being hit.

Family, friends, and members of the Christian community to which he belonged have expressed their regrets, remembering him as a humble, loving, and devoted man. Among them is singer Silvestre Dangond, who also issued a statement on Instagram.

Through an official statement, the singer expressed his condolences to Pineda's family and expressed his closeness to the artist: " Silvestre Dangond, his family and his entire team express their deepest sorrow for the loss of Diego, brother of our beloved Nico Pineda , who is a fundamental part of our musical group."

"Diego, a young man full of life, talent, and dreams, tragically passed away in a violent incident this Saturday, May 17, in Bogotá, DC. His loss leaves an irreparable void in all those who were fortunate enough to know him," the message continues.

"Today we embrace Nico and his loved ones with all our hearts, and we offer a prayer for Diego's eternal rest. We join in their grief and accompany them in this difficult time with all our love and solidarity. Rest in peace, Diego. Your light and music will live forever in the hearts of those who loved you," she added.

Diego Pineda, along with his brother Nico, formed a musical band in 2007, achieving two hits: one called 'Historia de Chat' and another titled 'Clase Aparte'.

In the videos obtained by Citytv, a television outlet owned by the ELTIEMPO publishing house, the vallenato singer, who was also riding as a passenger in a vehicle, attempts to flee after the attack, but collapses a few meters further on, landing in the middle of the street.

Some time later, another car arrived to take him to a medical center, where he unfortunately died due to the severity of his injuries.

The cause of the attack is currently unknown, but authorities' main hypothesis is that it was an attempted robbery.

The vehicle in which the alleged attackers were traveling was found in the town of Los Mártires. Inside A firearm was found, which would be the one used in the crime.

Both the National Police and the Prosecutor's Office continue to analyze the recordings to identify and arrest those responsible.
