The baby of a renowned influencer died after a tragic accident at home: a mirror fell on him.

Content creator Lindsay Dewey opened up on social media about the tragic events that led to the death of her 22-month-old son, Reed.
The child died in February 2025 after a tragic accident at his home. According to the influencer, the child was playing with a suction cup bowl, sticking it to a mirror and throwing it around.
What appeared to be an innocent game turned into a tragedy after a movement caused the glass surface to fall on Reed, who was not secured to his frame.
According to Dewey, he had no idea his son was playing with the bowl, as he was busy with some magnets before the accident.
Furthermore, the mother was only three meters away from the boy, as she was cooking dinner for her family. As soon as she heard the noise, she ran to help him.
"When it first happened, I was so confused about how it happened. Our kids aren't strong enough to move him, let alone put him down. And because we knew that, we didn't feel the urge to catch him. It seemed impossible for him to fall for no reason, considering his position and weight," she explained.
The woman revealed that she was a protective mother, always making sure to close doors and windows, and also anchoring cabinets and other objects that might fall.
"There were so many details that led to this being a perfect storm. Ultimately, a tragic and unexpected accident. Something we can never recover from," Dewey said.
The accident caused brain death in the minor. After the mirror fell on Reed, he was taken to the hospital. According to the influencer, he had limited pupillary response, respiratory autonomy, and brain function due to inflammation.
A few days later, doctors determined the child was brain dead. Because of this, and seeing that there was nothing more they could do for him, his parents decided to donate his organs.

"I've been telling myself, 'If he doesn't get his miracle, he'll become one,' and that's the only thing that gets me through it. Even though he wasn't saved, he's saving lives," she wrote.
According to the content creator, five children were able to receive her son's organs.
