The Casino de Madrid bullfighting awards honor the best of the San Isidro fair.


José Antonio Morante de la Puebla, as the winner of the fair and author of the risky bullfight, Borja Jiménez, protagonist of the best faena, and the bull Milhijas , from Victorino Martín, as the bravest, are some of the numerous awards that the jury of the Real Casino de Madrid has decided on regarding what happened at the recent San Isidro Fair, and which reflect with special success the most interesting bullfighting sequences of the cycle.
This is the 29th edition of these awards, which, as is traditional, will be presented in the fall. They consist of a replica of the sculpture El Torito by the French artist Bonheur, owned by the Madrid institution.
The list of winners is as follows:
Fair winner : Morante de la Puebla, for his performances in the special bullfights on May 28, Press, and June 8, Charity.
Best performance : Borja Jiménez , for his performance on the bull Milhijas , number 104, from the Victorino Martín ranch, fought on the afternoon of June 15 in sixth place.
Breakthrough bullfighter : Victor Hernandez, for his performance on May 10 against the bull Busca-Oro, number 961, from the El Pilar ranch, fought in third place.
Most complete livestock : Jandilla , for the bullfight held on the afternoon of June 5.
Bravest bull : Milhijas , number 104, from the Victorino Martín ranch, fought on the afternoon of June 15 in sixth place.
Best thrust : Emilio de Justo, for his thrust to the bull Milhebras , number 40, from the Victorino Martin ranch, fought in fifth place on June 15.
Best pair of banderillas : Victor del Pozo, for his performance against the bull Calentito , No. 18, from the José Escolar ranch, fought on the afternoon of June 3 in fifth place.
Best novillero : Aaron Palacio, for his performance on May 13 against young bulls from Alcurrucén.

An afternoon to remember : Saúl Jiménez Fortes, for his performance on the afternoon of May 21 against bulls from Arauz de Robles.
To courage and valor : Gómez del Pilar, for his performance on June 3 against bulls from José Escolar.
Risky Quite : Morante de la Puebla, for his clean-body pass, which is already known as “the quite of the glass”, to his banderillero José María Amores on May 28th to the bull Seminarista , number 7, from the Garcigrande ranch, fought in first place.
