This is the Vatican residence that Pope Leo XIV chose to live in during his pontificate in Rome.
During the second day of the conclave, the College of Cardinals elected 69-year-old American Robert Francis Prevost as the 267th pope of the Catholic Church . The new pontiff took the name Leo XIV.
During the official presentation of Pope Leo XIV on the balcony of St. Peter's Basilica, he surprised everyone by reusing the papal mozzetta and stole. These traditional elements were abandoned by Francis as a symbol of humility. Pope Francis also settled in the Casa Santa Marta, rejecting the comforts of the papal apartments.
