What did Charly García offer to the Instituto Cervantes' Literature Box?

The immortal song "Los dinosaurios" , "which recalls the anguish and uncertainty of the disappearances during the Argentine dictatorship", the handwritten lyrics of " La lógica del escorpión", and the album of the same name where it is contained, have been the legacy that the musician Charly García (Buenos Aires, 1951) offered this week to the Caja de las Letras of the Instituto Cervantes , in an intimate ceremony at his home in Buenos Aires, according to the Spanish institution.

The musician opened the doors of his home yesterday afternoon to welcome the director of the Cervantes Institute , Luis García Montero , who is in Buenos Aires to participate in two activities at the 49th Buenos Aires Book Fair. The poet expressed his admiration for the Argentine poet , whom he considered "one of the great maestros of Latin American music."
García, 73, with a weak but clear voice and delicate health, told him that all the objects he bequeathed "are dedicated with my signature to the Instituto Cervantes." In an ironic nod, he said of the song "Los dinosaurios" that "some have already left, fortunately." The song is featured on his second album, Clics modernos (1983), and the director of the Instituto Cervantes called it "a popular anthem."

In addition to this song, box 1667 will also house the manuscript— "a precise working document," said García Montero—of one of the songs from Charly García's latest album, La lógica del escorpión , published in October of last year, whose lyrics are based on Aesop's fable of the frog and the scorpion. A copy of the album of the same name will also be kept under lock and key , dedicated, like the rest of the objects, to the Instituto Cervantes.
"We are very excited that music is present in our cultural heritage," García Montero explained to the musician, after explaining that Serrat, Sabina, and Les Luthiers will also symbolically accompany him in the Cervantes Institute's vault.

The Caja de las Letras, located in the Madrid headquarters of the Institute , houses a large number of legacies in its safe deposit boxes, which have been deposited by Spanish-speaking cultural figures since 2007.
Renowned writers and prominent figures in film, art, music, dance, theater, and science have left fragments of their lives and professional careers in this former vault of the Cervantes Institute in Madrid.
