“Fiscal huachicol” reduces public revenues

The large-scale " huachicol fiscal" (not paying taxes) is a very important loss for public revenues and a lack of respect for compliant taxpayers, said the head of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit ( SHCP ), Edgar Abraham Amador Zamora.
Interviewed within the framework of the Banking Convention, the federal government official warned that even if it represented a minimal amount, this practice should not be permitted.
He predicted that the Mexican economy will likely end up growing this year below the original estimates for 2025, despite the dynamism of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) .
"It's a very significant reduction and unacceptable for the vast majority of Mexicans who contribute and pay their taxes," the official noted.
Amador Zamora asserted that the federal government is obligated to reduce this significant amount of illicit tax evasion. "Even if it's just a penny, we have to combat it," he said.
He accused it of being disrespectful, considering taxpayers who are up to date with their tax obligations, especially when tax collection grew 10% in real terms .
"The least we have to do is reduce it and combat these schemes," the Secretary of Finance stated. He therefore asserted that there must be accountability and criminal prosecution, if proven.
The attack will be carried out through increased control, data intelligence, and coordination with all authorities, as it affects several levels of public administration, such as customs, the Tax Administration Service ( SAT ), and the Ministries of Economy and Public Security , he indicated.
