A key meeting to generate strategic alliances

A key meeting to generate strategic alliances

The Spanish International Defense and Security Fair, held from May 12 to 14 at Ifema, contributes to Spain's position as a key player in defense and security at the European level, with significant growth in international participation, as well as a decisive push for cutting-edge innovation in this field.

As highlighted by the fair's management, organized by the Feindef Foundation with the institutional support of the Ministry of Defense: "Among the major new features of this edition are the expansion of the exhibition space, the growth in the number of defense-related startups, and a greater focus on disruptive technologies such as cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, essential in operational environments."

At this event, "which promotes public-private collaboration and fosters national talent, reaffirming Spain's role as an innovative country committed to global security," attendees will be able to experience firsthand the latest developments and projections of the sector in five key areas: land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace. This space covers 60,500 m2 spread across four pavilions (a 25% year-on-year increase). This will be an international meeting point for authorities, companies, universities, and professionals in the defense and security sector, a networking space for creating strategic alliances, with an expected attendance of more than 35,000 professionals, including 100 international delegations (163 international exhibitors from the 500 reserved stands).

In terms of innovation, which is essential to every edition of the fair, it has the support of Isdefe (Systems Engineering for the Defense of Spain) at Espacio Innova. Its business development director, Jesús Alonso, highlights how "at Feindef, we will showcase the dedication to service that has characterized our 40 years of activity, providing knowledge in engineering, technology, and innovation to support the Ministry of Defense in the major programs and challenges it addresses. Isdefe has been and will always continue to be at the service of the Ministry of Defense, supporting our country in those programs and projects that contribute to the stability, security, progress, and freedom of all Spaniards, in line with the demands and challenges of our times."

Alonso adds the importance of "collaboration with the Ministry of Defense's SDG Platin in co-organizing Espacio Innova, as a forum for debate and cooperation in the field of innovation and technology, which reaffirms our commitment to a maxim that is more relevant than ever today: innovation is a key aspect for Spanish defense."

An environment of innovation in its broadest sense, featuring meetings such as the one scheduled for Monday the 12th, the first of those organized at Espacio Innova, between Manuel Cutrín, CEO of Isdefe, and Miguel Ivorra, Lieutenant General and Director General of Digeid - Directorate General of Strategy and Innovation of the Defense Industry (Ministry of Defense).
