Flix connects key routes with prices starting at 89 pesos

MEXICO CITY.— The intercity transportation market in Mexico is undergoing a profound transformation, Milenio reports.
The German company Flix, a technology specialist for bus transportation, announced its official arrival in the country with an offer for Mexican passengers: tickets starting at 89 pesos, more than 1,600 international destinations, and a 100 percent digital platform.
Flix launches on May 27 with two main routes: Mexico City to Monterrey and Monterrey to Torreón, with stops in Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, and Matehuala.
Through its alliance with Greyhound, its sister company, it will offer connections from Mexico to cities such as New York, Toronto, Las Vegas, and Chicago, in addition to 1,600 destinations in the United States and Canada.
“Starting today, traveling by bus will never be the same. For years, the Mexican bus transportation market has operated under the same rules: high prices, little innovation, a clear lack of commitment to the environment, and an unfavorable environment that limits competition and the user experience. Mexico deserves a new way of traveling,” said Carlos Magaña, director of Flix Mexico.
Ticket pre-sale is now available on their website, mobile app, and at physical box offices. To celebrate, they launched a limited-time promotional rate of 30 pesos. In addition to the low price, Flix's offering includes amenities such as free Wi-Fi, spacious seating, power outlets, air conditioning, and real-time monitoring.
Each bus will be connected to a Traffic Control Center, with security cameras and GPS active 24/7.
The announcement is accompanied by a collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, which will allow Flix to use the "Mexico" brand in its promotional strategy. With a presence in 44 countries and more than 400 million passengers transported since 2013, Flix is focusing on Mexico, the third-largest bus market in the world.
