Last days to get the digital and physical ID card with the 2024 price; take note
There are only a few days left to process the digital citizenship card at the 2024 price, before the cost goes up. The document has a value of 68,900 pesos; however, as of March 1, 2025, its value will increase to 72,450 pesos, while the physical ID card will cost 62,900 pesos, according to what was established by the National Civil Registry, through Resolution 1174 of 2025.
Both the digital and physical ID cards can be obtained free of charge when they are issued for the first time, that is, as soon as you reach the age of majority.

"Taking into account that the resolution is effective as of March 1, 2025, citizens who make payments for the provision of services at the current rates will have until February 28 to complete the respective procedure. If not, they must go again to the bank or service correspondent authorized by the National Registry and pay the difference in the rate that will be effective as of March 1," the Registry reported in a statement.
How to get a digital ID in Colombia? According to the National Civil Registry, the digital ID card can be obtained through the first-time procedure or duplicate at any Registry Office in the country, as well as at 52 consulates abroad:
- First time: for citizens who turn 18 and need to obtain their ID card for the first time. This procedure is free and does not require an appointment in Colombia; service will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Duplicate: Citizens can obtain a duplicate of their ID card to update it or in case of loss. This procedure has a cost, which can be paid through the PSE system on the National Registry's website or at authorized collection points. 24 hours after making the payment, you must go to a service center to have your fingerprints, photo and signature taken, presenting proof of payment. It is not necessary to schedule an appointment; you will be attended to on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Once the new document has been issued and claimed, verify that the ID card details are correct. Then, download the mobile application 'Cédula Digital Colombia' and activate the digital ID card using facial authentication. The digital ID card will then be available on your mobile phone.

As indicated by the Mayor's Office of Bogotá, the following steps must be followed to process the physical ID:
- Attend the Registry Office for assistance: go to the Registry Office and assistance will be provided in the order of arrival; enrollment or capture of your biographical and biometric data will be carried out.
- Provide the base document as appropriate.
- Confirm RH and blood group.
- No photograph must be provided.
- Register your cell phone number and personal email address (of the document holder), to which the digital password will be sent.
