New Zealand will charge foreign tourists up to 20 euros to visit popular attractions.

New Zealand will start charging foreign tourists up to NZ$40 ( €20.40 ) to visit its most popular tourist destinations, such as Milford Track and Mount Cook , in a bid to boost the country's economic growth.
This was announced this weekend by Prime Minister Christopher Luxon , who assured that 62 million New Zealand dollars ( 31.7 million euros ) will be raised annually and reinvested in these places, as reported by Bloomberg.
"It's only right that, in these special places, overseas visitors make an additional contribution of between NZ$20 and NZ$40 per person," he added.
The New Zealand government will initially consider introducing the fee in Cathedral Cove , Tongariro Crossing , Milford Sound and Mount Cook , where foreigners typically account for 80% of visitors, according to Luxon.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister clarified that New Zealanders will not have to pay to access protected natural areas. "It's our collective heritage, and Kiwis shouldn't have to pay to see it," he emphasized.
