Facing the July 9 deadline—next Wednesday—set by the U.S. to reach individual agreements with various countries or impose steep, definitive tariffs on them, Trump announced yesterday that he had begun sending them letters notifying them of the tariffs he will apply to their exports, which will take effect on August 1, unless prior agreements are reached.
