Salvador Illa closes the European Academy Leadership program

The President of the Generalitat (Catalan Government), Salvador Illa, concluded the "Leadership Program for 21st Century Europe" of the European Leadership Academy (AEL) with a keynote address and the presentation of diplomas to the fourth cohort of young leaders. The event, held yesterday in Barcelona, ​​was attended by Josep Antoni Duran i Lleida, president of the AEL, and Francesc Pardo, program director.

During his speech, Illa emphasized that Europe "is a success story" and encouraged young people to take on the challenge of "being the protagonists of their future." The president emphasized the uniqueness of the European model: "The welfare state we have in Europe doesn't exist anywhere else in the world," he stated to an audience of nearly 30 young people selected by the Ethics and Admissions Committee chaired by Enrico Letta.

The closing session also featured David Vegara, Executive Director of Banco Sabadell, who gave a lecture on the Spanish financial system, and Belén Masiá, Professor at the University of Zaragoza, who focused her presentation on the challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence.

The program, aimed at young people between the ages of 22 and 34 with diverse academic and professional profiles, has offered a training experience that has included institutional visits to Brussels (European Commission, European Parliament, and NATO), Madrid (Congress of Deputies and Senate), and Barcelona (Catalan Parliament).

This year's faculty includes prominent figures such as Enrico Letta, Josep Rull, Luis de Guindos, Arancha González Laya, Pilar Fernández Bozal, Joaquín Almunia, Ángel Gabilondo, Antoni Brufau, Maurici Lucena, Anton Costas, Miquel Roca, Victòria Camps, and other leading figures in the political, economic, and social spheres.
