The head of the Tax Agency warns of a campaign against Spain: "It seeks to undermine our decisive action against fraud."

The show of support that thousands of Catalan Tax Agency officials were hoping for from their director general in the face of the threat of her transfer to the Generalitat (Catalan government) was received this Tuesday, but in reference to a different type of attack, the one that an international litigation firm has been carrying out against the Tax Inspectorate since last November for its allegedly abusive practices regarding the beneficiaries of the so-called Beckham Law.
In response to harsh accusations of pickpocketing in an advertising campaign targeting Tax Agency inspectors and the announcement of open war against the Spanish Treasury to put an end to these practices, the Director General of the Tax Agency, Soledad Fernández Doctor, sent a letter this Tuesday to the institution's staff to show her full support and denounce what she considers not a targeted attack on the Tax Agency but rather a "head-on attack" on the Spanish tax system . "It seeks to undermine our decisive action in the fight against fraud," she asserts in a three-page letter circulated to the agency's employees this Tuesday.
