The internationalization of Montería's Los Garzones Airport is progressing, offering two weekly flights abroad.

The internationalization of Montería's Los Garzones Airport is progressing, offering two weekly flights abroad.
Montería's Los Garzones Airport, recently modernized with an investment of 130 billion pesos, is ready to take the next major step toward internationalization.
This process, led by the Ministry of Transport and the Civil Aeronautics, includes the launch of two weekly international flights with aircraft carrying up to 160 passengers.
These flights will operate from existing infrastructure, which will be adequate to separate domestic and international flows and will include temporary spaces for Colombian Immigration, the National Air Transport Agency (DIAN), and other relevant authorities.

"Air connectivity is not just about development; it's a real commitment to tourism, investment, and regional progress. The Ministry of Transportation is moving forward decisively to make this internationalization a reality," said Transportation Minister María Fernanda Rojas.
This internationalization process is already in the inter-institutional coordination phase with the Colombian Immigration Service, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Dian (National Institute of International Relations), the ICA (National Institute of Statistics and Census), the National Police, the Ministry of Finance, and other entities.
In response to this process, the Córdoba Governor's Office has announced the installation of the BioMIG system, an automated immigration control tool that will be operated by the Colombian Immigration Service.

This contribution is in addition to the technical requirements defined by national authorities within the framework of the internationalization project led by the National Government.
The airport's modernization, which is already 100 percent complete, has enabled the movement of more than 440,000 passengers in the first three months of 2025.
Additionally, nearly 600 tons of cargo have been transported, consolidating Los Garzones as a key hub for connectivity in the Caribbean region.
