Small and medium-sized enterprises ( SMEs ) are one of the country's biggest outstanding issues, and banks and financial authorities must recognize this in order to close the gaps in access to credit that prevail in this sector, said Edgar Amador Zamora, Secretary of Finance and Public Credit ( SHCP ).
