The regime that Milei created to facilitate the purchase of Tierra del Fuego products

Access to goods produced under the Patagonian province's unique industrial regime is being streamlined, eliminating bureaucratic obstacles.
In another measure that once again focuses on the province's tax benefits, the national government created a simplified import regime for small shipments from the Tierra del Fuego Special Customs Area to the rest of the country , in order to facilitate the acquisition of Tierra del Fuego products by end consumers, exclusively for personal use and consumption.
The measure was reflected in Decree No. 334/2025 , published this Tuesday in the Official Gazette with the signature of President Javier Milei , which explains that "the current mechanism for the purchase and sale of industrial goods originating from the Tierra del Fuego Special Customs Area to the continental national territory to final consumers is an extremely bureaucratic and cumbersome process that hinders and harms said activity."
This justifies the creation of a "simplified import regime for small shipments of originating goods" produced under the Industrial Regime of Law No. 19,640 by companies adhering to the extension established by Decree No. 727/2021. It is intended exclusively for individuals residing in the Continental National Territory and expressly prohibits its commercialization.

The Ministry of Economy's Secretariat of Industry and Commerce determines which goods may operate under this regime, and each must have proof of origin.
The new scheme will allow residents of the rest of the country to purchase products from Tierra del Fuego through e-commerce platforms, which must be developed and enabled by the interested companies themselves.
The General Directorate of Customs , under the Customs Collection and Control Agency (ARCA), will be responsible for defining the conditions and formalities that must be met by operations and will establish the simplified procedure for the required documentation in tax and customs matters.
The creation of this simplified regime comes amid growing tension and disputes between the national government and Tierra del Fuego's electronics industry over the gradual elimination of tariffs on cell phone, television, and air conditioner imports, as well as the elimination of internal taxes.
