Viva Aerobus increases traffic

Viva Aerobus , Mexico's second-largest low-cost airline, increased its passenger traffic by 17.6% in April, recording its largest increase in traffic in the past 14 months, thanks to a more favorable comparison base.

The figure was also its 50th consecutive increase, extending a streak that began in February 2021, when airlines began to overcome the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Viva Aerobus' domestic traffic was 15.3% higher than in the fourth month of the previous year, while the number of international travelers using its services was 39% higher than the previous year.

Meanwhile, the airline's capacity, measured in available seat miles, increased 10.4 percent.

In cumulative terms, Viva Aerobus transported 9,353,000 passengers from January to April 2025, representing a 12.5% ​​increase compared to the previous year.

Financiera Independencia (Findep), a Mexican company specializing in microcredit, announced that its shareholders approved the payment of a dividend of 1.25 billion pesos.

The company did not provide details on the amount per share it will pay for this dividend, nor on the payment date.

"The Assembly approved the accumulated results through fiscal year 2024, solely for tax purposes. It is clarified that the dividend payment comes from the balance in the Net Taxable Income Account corresponding to the accumulated results through fiscal year 2013, and therefore would not be subject to tax withholding," the company said in a statement.
