Fine for not respecting the new red lines Through the Ministry of Transportation and the National Road Safety Agency (ANSV), the Colombian government implemented a new road safety measure aimed at reducing the risk of road accidents. These measures include red lines marked at critical points along the route to alert drivers and prevent them from making dangerous maneuvers.

Red lines are located at dangerous curves, intersections, and other high-risk areas. These demarcations indicate areas where speed must be reduced and where overtaking and U-turns are prohibited.
The National Traffic Code stipulates that "driving in highly dangerous and irresponsible maneuvers that endanger people or property" carries a fine of 30 times the current daily minimum wage (SMLDV). This is equivalent to $1,208,000, according to the Basic Value Unit (UVB).
If the violation is considered high-risk, the vehicle could be immobilized, which would entail additional costs such as towing fees and parking fees.
