The growing trend toward health is increasingly evident in today's society. This is demonstrated by the large number of individuals who have modified their lifestyles to include more regular exercise , which they complement with a balanced diet based on a variety of foods.
It's precisely what we eat and how we eat it that are among the factors that promote a healthier routine . In this sense, what we eat not only provides us with the properties and components necessary to promote a feeling of well-being. It can also reduce the risk of developing various diseases that diminish our quality of life in the medium and long term.

Many health experts point to the foods we eat as one of the foundations for maintaining our immune system. One of them is Dr. Goosen López, a neuronutritionist who, through Uri Sabat's YouTube channel, sought to shed some light on the importance of food for our well-being, among other issues.
Food as a pillar of healthAs an introduction to the topic, the expert states that the four key factors for taking care of our health before resorting to more radical solutions such as medication or surgery are food, hormones, toxins, and trauma . Within the first point, the interviewer asks about how nutrition can be managed for a better quality of life and longevity , as well as whether it can help us recover from certain diagnoses.
“There are foods that heal and foods that make you sick. So there are inflammatory foods and anti-inflammatory foods . (…) The food that makes you sick is, in principle, everything that contains, or rather, converts into, sugar. These foods are carbohydrates . There are some carbohydrates that are extremely inflammatory, which are the ones that are making everyone sick ,” Dr. Gossen responds to the question posed.
However, Sabat addresses the problem that foods containing carbohydrates tend to be cheaper than those containing positive components, such as protein . However, the expert shares an experience in which he witnessed how the total cost of preparing such meals is higher than generally believed.
