The Superintendency of Health announced the public hospitals for which the special intervention measure has been lifted.
During an accountability event for the intervening agents, managers, and comptrollers of the State Social Enterprises (ESE) under special measures, led by the Superintendency's health service providers delegation, the list of ESEs whose measures have been lifted and de-escalated was announced.
Based on the results of the follow-up through field visits, as well as the indicators "Phoenix" (a monitoring mechanism implemented by the Supersalud to monitor and evaluate the performance of health entities) and the control panel, the National Health Superintendence (SNS) determined the lifting of the measure and special de-escalation of the following entities:
  • University Hospital of the Caribbean
  • New ESE San Francisco de Asís Hospital
  • Local Hospital Cartagena de Indias
  • San Andrés Hospital of Tumaco
  • San Andrés de Chiriguaná Regional Hospital 2.

These surveys were carried out to strengthen security through programs, technology, communications, and strict surveillance; expand the service portfolio in line with installed capacity and improve the infrastructure of these hospitals; improve biomedical equipment; increase the sale of healthcare services, which leads to increased revenue; improve administrative and financial processes; and achieve a balanced budget and a more reasonable financial statement.
Likewise, formalization of human talent through incorporation into the plant according to workload studies.
Likewise, during the event, experiences from some of the hospitals selected in a global ranking of the best hospitals were presented, which are the following:
University Hospital of Cartagena
  • The only public hospital in the Atlantic region. 2nd among all hospitals in the Cartagena District.
  • Active member of the Global Network of Green and Healthy Hospitals
  • Recognition for responsible water management and adoption of good practices
San José de Maicao Hospital
  • Second place nationally in the MIPG ranking and a hospital that has managed, through the creation of the malnutrition ward and the maternal-perinatal unit, to maintain the indicator of zero deaths due to malnutrition in a total of 307 children treated each year, starting in July 2023 when the ward began operating, and has also managed to reduce perinatal mortality by 50%.

The event also presented follow-up to impactful projects in the health sector, such as:
