Queen Letizia's elegant dress for the 2025 Armed Forces ceremony: a Carolina Herrera design that she has worn before

Queen Letizia has attended the Armed Forces Day event for 20 years alongside King Felipe VI, then Princess and Prince. The celebration of this day dates back to 1978, when the annual commemoration of a national holiday was established to honor the Armed Forces and promote understanding and integration between them and society. The central event of the celebration is usually the military parade, held in different cities across the country, although Madrid has hosted it the most.
The Queen has attended this celebration on 17 occasions, having been absent in 2007 and 2009 for the birth of Infanta Sofía and for an official trip, respectively; while in 2020, the parade was canceled as a result of the pandemic. Santa Cruz de Tenerife becomes the main stage for the celebration in 2025, hosting the main events this Saturday, June 7, and the King and Queen of Spain , who arrived on the islands a few days earlier to attend various events, have traveled there. On this occasion, and as expected, the Queen's style has once again created a certain amount of excitement. As usual, Queen Letizia tends to opt for outfits that make a statement and even carry an implicit message.

On this occasion, Queen Letizia opted for the elegant white dress with blue flowers by Carolina Herrera , which she debuted in 2022 to welcome the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tanim Bin Hamad Al Thani, and Sheikha Jawaher Bint Hamad Bin Suhaim al Thani, alongside King Felipe VI, at an event at the Royal Palace. It is a white midi design, with vibrant blue flowers with green stems and leaves embroidered on one shoulder and on the skirt, creating an asymmetrical print. The dress has short sleeves, a round neck, is fitted at the waist to highlight the silhouette, and has a flared skirt.

For this event, as she did on the previous occasion, the Queen carried a blue Magrit handbag , the same shade as the flowers on her dress. For this look, she wore strappy sandals with a wide heel and an ankle strap.

This Friday, the King and Queen took advantage of their trip to Santa Cruz de Tenerife to also meet in La Palma with representatives of those affected by the Cumbre Vieja volcano. Accompanied by the President of the Canary Islands Government, Fernando Clavijo, and the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, King Felipe and Queen Letizia also visited the volcano's Official Viewpoint, accompanied by the President of the La Palma Island Council, Sergio Rodríguez, where they were able to observe the area covered by the lava flow. For the occasion, the Queen opted for a linen safari jacket, which she debuted in 2018 , making it clear that timeless garments are always a success in any wardrobe. With white trousers, she paired her look with barefoot sneakers by Vivobarefoot .

In 2024, a foot injury forced the Queen to attend this event in sneakers , something perhaps striking at the time but now more than normal. A red Mango suit and ruby earrings from Aldao jewelry were her chosen option.
A year earlier, in 2023, Queen Letizia opted for a two-piece ensemble with a printed skirt as the main feature. The garment was created in the workshop of Andalusian designer José Hidalgo, along with a draped white blouse with a crossover neckline and prominent shoulder pads by the Galician brand Boüret. In 2022, her sleeveless baby blue polka-dot dress was the center of attention in Huesca, where the celebration took place. It was designed by the Spanish brand & Me Unlimited and paired with a Carolina Herrera bag and shoes.
