Sydney Sweeney Breaks Silence on Jonathan Davino Breakup
Sydney Sweeney is setting the record straight about her relationship status.
The Euphoria star has confirmed her breakup with Jonathan Davino, two months after multiple outlets reported the two had called off their engagement and ended their relationship. And in addition to speaking out about the split for the first time, Sydney noted that "yes," she is single.
“I’m learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends," the Echo Valley star added in her interview with the Sunday Times, published May 31. "And I’m loving it."
The White Lotus alum and Jonathan began their relationship in 2018 and have also worked together, with him coproducing the 2023 film Anyone But You with the actress, who starred in the romcom with Glen Powell.
After the actors' onscreen chemistry raised eyebrows, the two went on to spark romance rumors, which they—as well as the actor's mom—continue to repeatedly dismiss.
"It’s always beautiful to see people fall in love with characters and be really supportive of stuff that they see on screen," Sydney said. "Glen and I adore each other, so I think we were so happy for the reception of the film."
And the bond between the 27-year-old and the Top Gun: Maverick actor—who recently reunited in Texas for his sister's wedding—remains strong.
"When you spend so much time with someone, you become close and you talk to each other about anything," Sydney said. "So work, life, family, friends, he’s just there for me. I’m there for him."
The actress also recently spent time with another costar—Brandon Sklenar, who appears with her in the movie The Housemaid. The two were photographed hanging out together at the Stagecoach music festival in Southern California in late April.
Meanwhile, as she explores the single life post-breakup, Sydney is bonding with her new love—a German Shepherd puppy, who joins her older dog Tank.
“Introducing Sully Bear," Sydney captioned an April 21 photo dump. "So far in our two weeks together he's become my set best friend, my bowling partner, my nap buddy, mutual water enthusiast, and travel companion."

Euphoria actress Sydney Sweeney and businessman Jonathan Davino first sparked dating rumors in 2018 when they were spotted attending several parties together, including Hulu's Emmy Party in Los Angeles.
The pair were photographed at the InStyle and Kate Spade dinner in Beverly Hills.
A year later, the Anyone But You star and her guy enjoyed a night out at a New York Knicks game in NYC.
The private pair enjoyed a low key trip to the flea market in West Hollywood weeks before they got engaged.
"I don’t date people in the spotlight," Sydney explained to Cosmopolitan of her stance on romance in 2022. "I don't date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way and it's easiest."
When asked about what she looks for in a partner, Sydney explained: "I look for a best friend. I need to be able to be with someone who I can literally hang out with 24/7 and never get sick of and we laugh every single day."
The White Lotus actress and her fiance continued their adventures with a fashionable trip to the Cannes Film Festival in 2023.
Looking all loved up in matching black outfits, the cute couple attended an event at the Venice Film Festival in Italy.
Back in New York City, the twosome were spotted walking Sydney's dog Tank.
The power couple, who produced Anyone But You and Immaculate together, held hands after a romantic dinner in Paris.
As for what it was like to mix work and romance? Sydney told Glamour UK in 2023, "It’s really great to work with someone who knows you so well, who fully supports your ideas, your vision and your voice."
The couple returned to the Venice Film Festival in 2024, with Sydney telling Entertainment Tonight months earlier that they hadn't started any wedding planning, noting, "I am so busy working!"
During a rare outing in winter 2025, the couple partook in a cheeky snowball fight in New York.
In March 2025, multiple outlets reported that Sydney and Jonathan had called off their engagement and relationship after seven years together.
Just before their breakup was confirmed, Sydney attended a wedding alongside Glen Powell—who she first sparked romance rumors with amid press for Anyone But You in 2023—in Texas. However, Glen's mother Cyndy Powell, shut down any romance brewing, telling the Daily Mail in 2025 that Sydney is simply a "friend" of the Powell family.
