'Jota Pe' Hernández dreams of building a mega-prison if he becomes president of Colombia: 'The only ones we have are hotels.'
The controversial Green Alliance senator, Jonathan Ferney Pulido Hernández , better known as Jota Pe Hernández, dreams of becoming president of Colombia and also of building a "mega-prison" because the ones in the country "are hotels."
Hernández announced his intention to run for president several weeks ago, and his idea of creating a prison with certain characteristics is one of his proposals.

In an interview with Noticias Caracol's "I Believe I'm President" section, the Santander congressman asserted that "today, prisons are hotels and have become the largest center for extortion."
"They do all they can from the prisons," he said, referring to the country's prison overcrowding, which makes it impossible to control criminals.
'It would be called 'The Prison' Hernández stated that to solve the country's prison crisis, he proposes using part of Colombia's 37 million hectares of vacant land to build a "mega-prison," which would be called "The Prison."

The politician said he already has plans and a budget for this "mega-prison." "We have the land, the money..." he stated.
Inevitably, Hernández had to talk about the president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, who built the mega-prison known as the Terrorism Confinement Center (Cecot), which has been accused of serious human rights violations. In a sort of defense of the Central American president, Hernández asserted: "Bukele was criticized too much. He built his mega-prison, persecuted bandits, and today he is a reference even for the United States."
Hernández, who is serving his first term in Congress and became known as a YouTuber, said of his candidacy: "This country needs a president who can manage the nation like the manager of a successful company."
