'We are in a government that practices racist behavior': Francia Márquez, following Gustavo Petro's remarks at the Cabinet meeting.

Vice President Francia Márquez stated that "racist actions" are being practiced and expressed under Gustavo Petro 's administration. In an interview that Noticias RCN will broadcast on Monday, August 11, Márquez addressed this issue during her three years in office as the current president of the Casa de Nariño.
In an interview with journalist and director of Noticias RCN, José Manuel Acevedo, on the aforementioned outlet, Márquez addressed the president's controversial statements at a recent cabinet meeting.
When asked what she thought about the president saying, "No Black person is going to tell me to exclude a porn actor," the former Minister of Equality stated, " This progressive, or popular, government was elected in this country with the votes of the Black, Afro-Colombian, Raizal, and Palenquero people."

Márquez added: "Without our massive participation, this government would not have been possible. We live in a racist society, and racism, whether left-wing or right-wing, must be eradicated; racism hurts, racism injures. We are in a government that practices or expresses racist actions and no longer strives to eradicate them."
'I didn't name Florian' In the same interview, Márquez explained the reasons why Juan Carlos Florián was not appointed Vice Minister of Diversity in the Ministry of Equality, which greatly angered President Petro, who then made the aforementioned remark against the then Minister of Equality, Carlos Rosero. Ultimately, President Petro appointed Florián as head of that ministry.

"I told the President that I didn't want to expose myself to further violence by naming Florián and that I wasn't going to name him. That's when I submitted my letter of resignation," Márquez said.
Márquez clarified that she did not know Florián personally and that when she announced his appointment to the vice ministry, she was showered with criticism and received videos of the now-new Minister of Equality's pornography activities. "I have been a woman who has suffered too many attacks for being a Black woman and for holding this position, and I told him I wasn't going to appoint him (Florián). But President Petro insisted that he be appointed, and so I submitted my resignation," Márquez stated.
Finally, Márquez left the Minigualdad and Carlos Rosero was appointed, who was also replaced by President Petro.
