The pilot of the private flight with Laura Belén Arrieta declared that some of the luggage was his, but he did so after more than four months of silence.

After more than four months of judicial silence , one of the pilots of the private flight that carried Laura Belén Arrieta finally broke the silence. Juan Pablo Pinto came forward spontaneously and declared that some of the luggage on board was his. He also maintained that there were no glitches in the controls and that the landing operation proceeded normally.

The flight landed on February 26, but Pinto only decided to speak out now. The pilot said he boarded the Bombardier Global 5000 plane, registration N18RU, at Kopf Opa Locka Airport in Miami , and that the only passenger was Arrieta, who works with businessman Leonardo Scatturice , owner of OCP TECH and the new owner of Flybondi .

The pilot of the suitcase flight voluntarily testified. In his statement, he explained that 7 of the 10 suitcases were his.

According to Pinto, upon arrival in Buenos Aires, the check was carried out by Customs agents and the Airport Security Police (PSA) . He said it was standard procedure. He also stated that at that time he was informed that two suitcases—one belonging to Arrieta and the other to Víctor Du Plooy , also an OCP employee—would remain on the plane to be retrieved later in France.

Pinto explained the presence of several packages in the cargo hold. He said he was carrying a suitcase with clothes , a carry-on bag , a wheeled backpack for his son, a guitar , and a printer . He also explained that pilots often carry technical equipment such as iPads, flight manuals, and flashlights.

To support his claims, he submitted photographs showing a porter pushing a cart with the items. According to him, the guitar belonged to Du Plooy and the printer was for his sister. He also provided receipts for purchases made on Amazon.

The case is being handled by prosecutors Claudio Navas Rial and Sergio Rodríguez , and Judge Martín Yadarola . They suspect the flight may have carried more suitcases than officially declared.

In this context, Pinto's belated statement does not go unnoticed. His testimony seeks to reinforce the idea that there were no suspicious maneuvers. However, the courts are still questioning why he waited more than four months to give his account.
