Armando Benedetti complains to the Court about the pension reform process: the Chamber has not sent the report.

Interior Minister Armando Benedetti once again addressed the pension reform that the Constitutional Court returned to the House of Representatives to correct procedural flaws.
The head of the ministry asked why the high court has not yet responded to the processing of the initiative by President Gustavo Petro's government.
“Pension reform. Who legislates? The law has already been processed and amended; a strong political will has been demonstrated, like never before for a law. So, what's happening in the Constitutional Court? What's happening with the law? What's happening with the pension bonus for the elderly of Colombia? Why is the Court forcing us into this uncertainty when the political will is clear?”

The second vice president of the Chamber, Lina María Garrido, denounced in a tweet that the corporation has not yet sent the report of the sessions in which the pension reform was discussed to the Constitutional Court in order to correct the flaws identified by the high court.
According to the Cambio Radical congresswoman, 15 days have already passed since the extraordinary sessions called by the government were held.
“Watch this: today, July 14, 2025, marks more than 15 days since the illegal #extraordinary sessions, with which, with full knowledge, they once again #corrupted the #PensionReform. And to date, the @CamaraColombia has not sent the report of said sessions to the @CConstitucional,” the representative said.

And he added: “So, what was the fucking point? A photo hugging @AABenedetti? They had plenty of time to wait for the ruling and do things right. The Court had given them a 30-day deadline, and the illegal presidential decree on extras gave them until July 19. I repeat: they are the ones who wanted to taint the pension reform.”
He also stated that he would sue the decree that called the sessions: “ I will teach them to #Respect the law. The #NullityDemand has been filed against the illegal Decree 0747 of 2025, which called the @CamaraColombia for extraordinary sessions , and through which Petro and Benedetti, with the complicity of the Presidency, #vitiated the #PensionReform. They did so with full knowledge that they were committing an illegality.”

For his part, the Speaker of the Chamber, Jaime Raúl Salamanca, confirmed that they are already making progress on the document that will be sent to the Constitutional Court.
“Here at the office since early morning, preparing the report for the Honorable @CConstitucional on Law 2381 of 2024. One of my last tasks as president of the @CamaraColombia. We hope to have it ready before the end of the week,” he wrote in a tweet.
