Javier Milei's government supported the United States attack on Iran.

While several Latin American countries expressed concern about the United States ' military offensive against Iran 's nuclear facilities, the government of Javier Milei chose to openly support the action led by Donald Trump.

The most resounding support came from Defense Minister Luis Petri , who publicly celebrated the bombing. "Guaranteeing peace in the world means fighting, always and everywhere, against terrorism and its nuclear weapons. Tomorrow the world will wake up freer and more at peace! We were victims of Iran's terror and we paid for it with the blood of innocents. Thank you, President Milei. We are on the right side of history. On the side of justice!" Petri posted on his X account.

The message was quickly replicated by Milei himself, who retweeted it from his official account, making clear his complete alignment with the US government's decision. The reaction came hours after Trump confirmed the attacks on the Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan facilities, in response to the alleged advancement of Iran's nuclear program.

Argentina's position contrasts with that of neighboring countries such as Brazil and Chile. While President Gabriel Boric condemned the attack as a violation of international law, and Lula da Silva called for an "urgent de-escalation of the conflict," Buenos Aires emphasized the "just" nature of the military intervention.

The national government's argument is based on Argentina's history of attacks, especially the 1994 AMIA attack, in which the local courts found Iranian officials involved. "The memory of our dead compels us not to remain neutral in the face of terrorism," those close to the president reiterate.

In this context, the country is once again positioned as one of Washington's main regional allies, even as the US military operation is questioned in international forums. The decision to unequivocally support it reflects the current administration's diplomatic doctrine, which prioritizes geopolitical alliances with Western powers over the more moderate stances of the rest of Latin America.
