Layda Sansores caught on luxury trip after journalist censorship controversy

The governor of Campeche, Layda Sansores , has once again found herself at the center of controversy. This time, she was spotted traveling to the Netherlands, where, according to rumors, she took the opportunity to take a luxurious summer vacation, which has sparked criticism due to its high cost.
Just a few days ago, the president was accused of censoring a journalist in Campeche under the so-called " Gag Law ," a measure that human rights organizations have considered a direct threat to freedom of expression.
Amid the scandal, the governor was caught at Mexico City airport en route to Amsterdam , the capital of the Netherlands, a tourist destination known for its high cost of living.
According to reports from platforms like HousingAnywhere, Amsterdam is currently the most expensive city to rent in Europe , with prices well above average. Eating out, staying, getting around the city, and sightseeing require a considerable budget.
The image of Sansores pulling her wheeled luggage surrounded by companions went viral on social media, sparking a wave of criticism, with users criticizing the double standards of politicians who demand austerity.

Many point out the irony that while citizens are being asked to "tighten their seatbelts," Morena-aligned officials are enjoying international travel during peak season.
Layda Sansores' trip adds to a growing list of Morena politicians who have been singled out for trips abroad in the middle of summer:
- Andy López Beltrán , son of the former president, was recently seen in Tokyo, Japan , shopping at luxury stores like Prada.
- Mario Delgado , current Secretary of Public Education, spent his vacation in Lisbon, Portugal .
- Ricardo Monreal , Morena's coordinator in the Chamber of Deputies, was captured in Madrid, Spain .
- Sergio Gutiérrez Luna , a federal deputy for Morena, and his wife Diana Karina Barreras , a deputy for the PT, have been accused of wearing clothing and accessories from exclusive brands .
Despite the criticism, Layda Sansores has not yet commented on the trip.
