The National Lottery Advisory Council told Congress that it welcomes the gaming bill submitted by the Executive Branch, which creates the General Directorate of Gaming as a regulatory body.

"Since its creation, this Advisory Council has agreed with President Luis Abinader on the creation of mechanisms for greater control and transparency over gaming," the letter states.

He also called on the National Congress to take "this project seriously" and approve it so that society can be granted "a true instrument of control, security, transparency , and sufficient power to establish sanctions against potential violations."

The members of the National Lottery Advisory Council , Archbishop Francisco Ozoria , Monsignor Jesús Castro Marte, Bernardo Vega, Federico Lalane José, Rafael Acevedo, Efrain Castillo, Juan Batlle, Frank Valdez Mena and Teófilo Quico Tabar, coordinator, signed the letter sent to both chambers.
